31st Annual BLUE RIDGE RYDER CUP
October 10-12, 2024 – Carroll Valley, PA
In the aftermath of a momentous 30-year anniversary last year, the Blue Ridge Ryder Cup now embarks on its fourth decade. Albeit still short of the historic “four score . . .” benchmark intoned by Mr. Lincoln less than eight miles from Carroll Valley’s first tee, this remarkable tournament somehow has emerged as venerable but not hidebound. Look no further than this year’s adaptations in playing formats and awards dinner.
This year’s tourney will include a first-ever alternating shot round to close out Thursday’s play and a two-man scramble to open Friday’s. We also will be bringing back final round singles matches for the first time in three years. Our change in venue for Saturday’s awards dinner is the cozy Irish Inn in Glen Echo, where we will have a private room for cocktails (6:30-8:00 p.m.) and dinner/awards (8:00-10:00 p.m.).
The Redmen, coming off a rare defeat in 2023, have bolstered the top of their lineup with the addition of Scott Dillie, a work colleague of Ted’s living in Alexandria, VA and playing out of Belle Haven CC. Meanwhile, the Mulligans are pleased to complete yet another father-son connection as Elliot Patton joins their lineup after his earlier two-year stint on victorious Redmen teams.
